Sustainable and cost-efficient packaging options
An enticing presentation is one of the most approachable ways to create experience in your shop and therefore additional sales. These are some of the most popular options for attractively packaging your own prepared foods.
Cardboard boxes and paper bags
Made of recyclable material, available in various sizes and easy to personalise with your logo. Ideal for dry or non-fat preparations such as biscuits, cakes or other snacks.
Skin packaging
Skin packaging wraps the contents with a tight foil, like a second skin. Your product shines and stays fresh for longer. The perfect packaging for meat or fish, for example.
Trays with plastic film
Today usually recyclable and/or reusable. Eco-friendly variants made of sugar cane or maize, for example, are even 100% biodegradable. The transparent film makes for an appealing presentation.
The options vary in durability, price and appearance. Moreover, different packaging suits different preparations. So choose what best suits your products, customers and image.
Reiserpack packaging solutions
Low cost and high ease of use make eco-friendly trays with clear plastic film one of the most chosen packaging options. Thanks to the devices of designer and manufacturer Reiserpack, you too can package your preparations in no time, without the need for a whole factory of devices. D’Heldt distributes their tray sealers, which seal plastic trays with a plastic film. You will find different types of appliances in their extensive range.
Manual tray sealers
These are relatively simple table top devices. You place your tray in the mould, pull the plastic film over it and melt the edges by pulling the hot sealing plate downwards. Cutting the foil is done automatically. In 2 to 3 seconds, your product is packed.
Semiautomatic tray sealers
These slightly larger devices (think about the size of a shop cash register) take over some of your work. The machine automatically pulls the film over the tray when you close the drawer containing the tray. Sealing also happens automatically. Wait a few seconds and pull your packaged preparation out of the machine.
MAP and Skin tray sealers
Whereas traditional tray sealers only package, our more advanced machines are also capable of vacuum packaging and even gasification with the right food gas. This way, you extend the shelf life of your preparation. Another option is Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP). By injecting a gas mixture such as oxygen (O2) into the packaging, your product stays fresh and retains its colour for longer.
Skin packaging is an innovative packaging method in which your device applies a transparent plastic film tightly around your product, as if it were a second skin. The result is optimum protection, a longer shelf life and an attractive presentation. Customers can thus see the quality of your offer at a glance.
Unique to Reiserpack’s offering are their machines that combine MAP and Skin. With these machines, we enable ‘vacuum gas and skin packaging’ in a tray. When you purchase a Reiserpack traysealer, we advise you in advance which moulds you need.
Rotary machines
Instead of a tray, these units have a rotating blade. You place trays in the machine on either side of the blade, preparing trays while the machine seals. This way, the production process continues and you don’t lose time waiting for the packaging to be sealed.
Reiserpack’s rotary machines are therefore particularly suitable for larger volumes. You do need twice as many moulds for these machines as for our semi-automatic tray sealers, which makes them a bit more expensive.
